Aland Sailing Robots
The project Åland Sailing Robots was initiated by the Åland University of Applied Sciences in January 2013. The goal for our first sailing robot was to sail autonomously, a goal we achieved in May 2013. You can read about our project at http://www.sailingrobots.ax/node/25
Our next goals are
2014 – World’s first sailing between Finland and Sweden with an autonomous sailing robot.
2015 – The longest sailing ever in the Baltic Sea with an autonomous sailing robot.
2016 – Our first attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean with an autonomous sailing robot.
We will not participate in WRSC but we will be there to see and learn. Two students and two staff will attend IRSC and WRSC.
