Real-time tracking during the competition :

During the WRSC the organisation will provide one GPS/GPRS tracking device for each boat. This tracking solution is supported by ENSTA Bretagne and allows the real time visualization of the position of each boat on a webpage. It also allows replays of different races.

The actual size and weight of the tracking devices will be announced soon, as well as specific requirements for installation in the boats.

A browser client will be soon available.

It will allow users to follow in real-time each robot or replay finished attempts. It based on a dedicated API called “Swarmon API”. This library permits many interactions with localization data, don’t hesitate to report to the API online documentation for further information and discover its numerous features. This technical solution could receive data from different sources. Offered tracking devices are currently Android smartphones with a specific onboard application which need a 17cm long – 10cm wide – 1.5cm high place. Fixing systems and sim cards will be furnished. If you already dispose of an onboard localization solution, you could choose to use it however it must be through the previous quoted API and in this case you will need a direct or not Internet connection (Normally, WIFI internet connection will be available at the marina).
