The project Åland Sailing Robots was initiated by the Åland University of Applied Sciences in January 2013. The goal for our first sailing robot was to sail autonomously, a goal we achieved in May 2013. About us We represent research staff from the Intelligent Robotics Group at the Department of Computer Science in Aberystwyth University. We have been working on autonomous surface vehicles since 2004 and have built over 15 sail powered and 2 motorised robots in that time.
